Me-163 Komet
|
|
The Komet was designed as a rocket-powered point-defense interceptor,
able to rapidly climb to altitude in order to shoot down incoming
enemy bombers that were crushing Germany. After an on-again off-again
development schedule, the first combat flight of an Me-163 occurred
on May of 1944.
Pilots reported the Komet to be "Superb! No other word can express
the pleasurable sensation as I shot ever upwards into the sky"
and "one of the most maneuverable airplanes ever built." –
Now Leading Edge Gliders brings this same exciting performance
to your local slope!
